While the Air Service Newsletter is not an AF History publication, this official newsletter provides a fascinating snapshot on the operations and events happening during the critical years leading up to the emergence of the modern US Air Force.
The Air Service newsletter began publication in 1918. The stated intention of the newsletter: The chief purpose of this publication is to distribute information on aeronautics to the flying personnel in the Regular Army, the Reserve Corps, National Guard and others connected with aviation. The newsletter changed name several times: Air Corps Newsletter; Air Force the Official Service Journal of the US Army Air Forces; then AAF Review with a final issue in September 1946. It has since been published by the Air Force Association as Air Force Magazine.
